A. 
The Police Officers of the City may be appointed in such numbers, for such times and in such manner as may be prescribed by ordinance. They shall have the power to serve and execute all warrants, subpoenas, writs or other process, and to make arrests in the same manner as the Chief of Police. They may exercise such powers in areas leased or owned by the City outside of the boundaries of the City. The Chief of Police and the Police Officers shall be the Conservators of Peace, and shall be active and vigilant in the preservation of good order within the City.
B. 
The Police Officers of the City shall have the same powers and duties as the Chief of Police and such salaries as the Board of Aldermen may decide upon at the time of employment. The duties and powers of the Police shall be as set forth in Chapters 79 and 85, RSMo., as amended.

Police Officers shall have a badge of office and shall wear such badge when on duty when assigned to duty requiring the wearing of a uniform. All non-uniformed officers are required to have their assigned badges in their possession at all times when on duty.

A. 
In addition to the requirements set forth in this Chapter, policy manuals and other rules and regulations will be formulated and published by the Police Department. These directives will relate to all phases of police operation, administration and ethical conduct.
B. 
The City Administrator shall review and approve all policies of the Police Department, including policy manuals and changes thereto.
C. 
All members of the Grain Valley Police Department will be governed by these rules and regulations. Violation will constitute a basis for disciplinary action. Future revisions or additions will become a part of these directives and will have equal force.
D. 
Although the Chief of Police has the power to hire and fire personnel within the Department, the City Administrator retains the power to review all recommendations for such hiring and firing, promotions and other departmental affairs.
