No person shall sell or offer for sale any article, food or beverage or perform or offer to perform any services in any park, beach or public place without first obtaining a written permit from the Village Board to carry on such activity.
A. 
No person shall park or maintain upon the public streets, roads or highways of the Village, upon any Village property or upon a private property within the Village any food wagon, trailer or other vehicle from which any foods shall be sold while such vehicle is parked on any such property described herein unless the owner or operator thereof shall first obtain from the Village of Salem Lakes a license authorizing such sale.
B. 
Special permission may be granted for such vehicles by the Village Board, after investigation, to nonprofit organizations. Also excluded in this section are any vehicles, etc., located on the Kenosha County Fairgrounds Association property if they are licensed through such Association.
Except as otherwise provided, in addition to the revocation or suspension of any license or permit issued under the provisions of this chapter, any person found to be in violation of any provision of this chapter shall be subject to forfeiture as provided in § 1-4 of this Code.

No person, corporation, limited-liability company, partnership or other entity may operate a roadside stand for sale of locally grown or produced fruits, vegetables, honey, eggs or similar products within the Village unless authorized by and in strict compliance with the provisions of this chapter.

A. 
Any person who operates a roadside stand in the Village of Salem Lakes shall obtain a permit from the Village Administrator or his or her designee prior to any sales.
B. 
A roadside stand shall be placed only in the street yard.
C. 
A roadside stand shall not exceed 300 square feet in area and shall be moveable.
D. 
Roadside stands are not permitted on properties with multifamily residential zoning.
E. 
The operator of a roadside stand must make reasonable provision for customer vehicle parking such that it does not create a traffic or safety hazard.
F. 
The Village Administrator or his or her designee is authorized to suspend or revoke any permit issued pursuant to this chapter in the event that the permit holder fails to comply with all provisions of the permit.

The fee to operate a roadside stand will be $10. Permits shall be valid from March 1 through October 31 of each year.
