Smoking or carrying of a lighted pipe, cigarette, cigar or tobacco in any form is prohibited:
A. 
In any public school building in the Borough of Etna, except as provided in § 493-2 of this chapter.
B. 
On any bus specifically operated for the purpose of transporting school pupils.
The Fire Chief, with the assistance of the building principal, shall designate specific, safe locations in any public school building in which smoking may be permitted.
The Fire Chief is authorized to order posting of "No Smoking" signs in or on locations described in § 493-1A and B of this chapter. The content, lettering, size and location of said signs shall be subject to the approval of the Fire Chief.

Any person who violates any provision of § 493-1 of this chapter shall, for every such violation, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $600 and costs of prosecution and, in default of payment of fine and costs, to undergo imprisonment for not more than 30 days.
