The mayor and council of the borough, deem it in the best interest
of the borough to provide regulation of the parking of vehicles upon
the lots adjacent to the borough hall-police facility and ambulance
corps building, such parking lots being located between Kahn Terrace
and Clendenin Place as well as the intersection of Kahn Terrace and
Hudson Terrace in the Borough of Englewood Cliffs; and such regulation
is authorized pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 39: 4-197(q);
Parking in the municipally-owned parking lots located between
Kahn Terrace and Clendenin Place adjacent to the borough hall-police
facility of the borough as well as that municipally owned parking
lot adjacent to the Englewood Cliffs Ambulance Corps Building located
at the intersection of Kahn Terrace and Hudson Terrace, shall be prohibited
except for vehicles of municipal officers or employees and for vehicles
of persons engaged in business or activities with the borough.
Any person violating the provisions of this section shall, for each violation, be subject to the penalty as stated in chapter
3, section
3-1. Vehicles in violation of this chapter may also be towed away at the expense of the owner.
Whenever a supplemental notice is issued by the municipal court
of the Borough of Englewood Cliffs for a violation of this chapter,
there will be imposed an additional cost of $5.
The chief of police of the borough is authorized pursuant to
the provisions of N.J.S.A. 39:4 et seq. to post such signs as are
required to notify the public of the regulation effectuated by this
section.
