The introduction of solids, including by-products
of food waste grinders, and of grease into the sewerage system of
the City of North Wildwood is hereby declared to be an act which is
or may become detrimental or may become a menace to the health of
the inhabitants of this municipality and, further, is or may become
an annoyance or an interference with the comfort or general well-being
of the inhabitants of this municipality.

Effective March 1, 1983, no commercial business,
the operation of which would result in the expelling of grease or
harmful solids into the sewerage system, shall be operated unless
there has first been installed a grease interceptor and/or solids
interceptor, which interceptor shall be installed in compliance with
the standards as set forth in the National Standard Plumbing Code
of 1978, and with the approval of the Plumbing Subcode Official with
respect to the proper size of such interceptor. The Plumbing and/or
Sewer Inspector shall annually inspect all grease and/or solid interceptors.
Effective March 1, 1983, no commercial business
shall be permitted to introduce by-products of food waste grinders
into the sewerage system.

Anyone convicted of a violation of the provisions
of this article shall be punishable by a fine not to exceed $2,000,
imprisonment for not more than 90 days, or community service for not
more than 90 days, or any combination thereof.
