A. A fee for parking, either by centralized parking payment
station or by mobile parking app, shall be paid upon parking a vehicle
on the following streets and areas in the City of North Wildwood:

B. Payment of fees for parking shall be made at a centralized parking payment station or by mobile parking app. The rates that are to be charged during the times when parking fees are in effect shall be established from time to time by resolution of the City Council and such rates shall be posted on each centralized payment station. No parking fees shall be required in any location where parking is prohibited under N.J.S.A. 39:4-138. Nothing in this subsection shall be deemed to apply to any parking space provided within any of the City parking lots that are referred to in §
418-82, as supplemented and amended.

Commencing on May 15 and continuing until September 30 of each year, it shall be unlawful for the owner or operator of a vehicle to cause, allow, permit or suffer any such vehicle to remain in a parking space on the streets or areas enumerated in §
418-1A, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 12 midnight, without first having paid the requisite fee at a centralized payment station or by mobile parking app. No vehicle shall be permitted to remain in a parking space during said hours beyond the period of time covered by the payment of the appropriate fee. This section shall be applicable to all parking spaces requiring payment of parking fees within the City limits of the City of North Wildwood.
It shall be unlawful to park any vehicle across any line or marking designating a parking space during the periods covered by §
418-2.

The fees for parking as provided for in this
chapter are for the purpose of regulating parking and to cover part
of the cost, convenience and protection of the public.

A. Any person
desiring to obtain a yearly parking permit may do so by applying to
the Office of the City Clerk of the City of North Wildwood. All permits
issued pursuant to this section shall be transferable from one vehicle
to another without prior approval or payment of an additional fee,
and shall be valid in any parking space in the City of North Wildwood
where payment is required for parking. In the event that a permit
is lost or stolen, the replacement cost shall be the full price of
the original permit. The cost of a yearly parking permit is hereby
fixed as follows:
B. Transferable
parking permits issued pursuant to this section shall not be valid
for low-speed vehicles.

Any person violating the provisions of this
article shall, upon conviction thereof, be punishable by a fine of
not more than $2,000, by imprisonment for a term not exceeding 90
days, or by community service for not more than 90 days, or any combination
thereof.
