[HISTORY: Adopted by the Township Committee of the Township of Franklin
12-18-1967 as Ch. 41 of the 1967 Code. Amendments noted where applicable.]
Pursuant to the provisions of the County and Municipal Water and Sewerage
Disposal Authorities Law (P.L. 1957, c. 183, p. 634, Section 1, N.J.S.A. Title
40, Chapter 14B[1]) of the State of New Jersey, there is hereby created a public
body corporate and politic under the name and style of "Franklin Township
Municipal Utilities Authority."

The Franklin Township Municipal Utilities Authority hereby created is
a utilities authority as contemplated and provided for by said County and
Municipal Water and Sewerage Disposal Authorities Law and shall have and exercise
all of the powers and perform all of the duties provided for by said County
and Municipal Water and Sewerage Disposal Authorities Law and any other statutes
heretofore enacted and applicable thereto.
A.Â
The Franklin Township Municipal Utilities Authority shall
consist of five members, and said members shall be appointed by the Township
Committee of the Township of Franklin.
B.Â
Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:14B-17, the members of the Franklin
Township Municipal Utilities Authority shall receive as compensation for their
services such sums as the Franklin Township Municipal Utilities Authority
may determine, but said compensation shall not exceed the annual sums hereinbelow
mentioned for the various members:

C.Â
Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:14B-18, the Franklin Township
Municipal Utilities Authority may appoint a Secretary, an Executive Director,
a Chief Engineer, a Solicitor and such other agents and employees as it may
require, and the Franklin Township Municipal Utilities Authority in making
said appointments and employments shall determine the qualifications, terms
of office, duties, retainers and/or compensations of all such appointees or
employees.
A copy of this chapter, duly certified by the Township Clerk of the
Township of Franklin, shall forthwith be filed by said Township Clerk in the
office of the Secretary of State of the State of New Jersey.
