Beginning January 16, 1982, there shall be deemed created within the Township of Franklin the position of Tax Assessor, under the authority of N.J.S.A. 40A:9-146.
The Township Committee shall appoint a Tax Assessor and as many deputies as is deemed necessary, and each shall hold his or her office for a term of four years from the first day of July next following his or her appointment.
The Tax Assessor and any deputies appointed by the Township Committee shall receive such salaries as are permitted by the Salary Ordinance adopted each year by the Township Committee of the Township of Franklin.[1]
