The purpose of this chapter is to establish
a yard waste collection and disposal program in the Township of Wyckoff,
so as to protect public health, safety and welfare, and to prescribe
penalties for the failure to comply.
[Amended 3-15-2011 by Ord. No. 1638]
A. Leaves. During the Wyckoff leaf collection periods,
sweeping, raking, blowing or otherwise accumulating leaves for collection
that are not containerized at the curb shall not be placed in the
paved portion of the roadway nor closer than 10 feet to any storm
drain inlet but may be placed in the grass portion of the unpaved
right-of-way. If such placement of leaves occurs within 10 feet of
any storm drain inlet or in the roadway, the property owner shall
be responsible for the prompt removal of leaves from the street or
from any drain inlet encroachment, or said property owner shall be
deemed in violation of this chapter.
B. Branches. Branches shall only be tied in three-foot lengths
or containerized and placed at the curb no sooner than 6:00 p.m. of
the night preceding the scheduled and announced collection. They shall
also not be placed closer than 10 feet from any storm inlet. Placement
of branches at the curb or along the street at any other time or in
any other manner is a violation of this chapter. If such placement
of branches occurs, the property owner shall be responsible for the
prompt removal of branches from the street, or such property owner
shall be deemed in violation of this chapter.
