All materials used for plumbing installation work shall be free from detrimental defects and shall conform to the regulations of the Plumbing Inspector.
A.
No material, device, fixture, method of assemblage, installation, appurtenance or appliance other than those specified or permitted by the regulations issued hereunder shall be installed unless it has been approved by the Plumbing Inspector and is installed in conformity with the conditions of such approval.
B.
If it is impractical to conduct adequate tests prior to installation, the Plumbing Inspector may grant tentative approval and permission to make the installation as proposed, but final approval shall not be given until tests conducted after installation show that the material, device, fixture, method or assemblage, installation, appurtenance or appliance meets the intent of these regulations, functions as required and conforms to the conditions of approval set forth by the Plumbing Inspector when granting tentative approval.
C.
Materials for plumbing installation shall be deemed approved when they conform to the standard specifications for materials hereinafter set forth in § 131-13.
A.
Whenever the approved standard under which a material, fixture or device is approved requires that the item be identified in a specified manner as to weight or quality, such identification shall be provided and shall be of a reasonably permanent nature. Copper tubing shall have an identification mark (as to type) every two feet.
B.
Solder and solder fluxes shall have labels stating: "Contains 0.20% or less lead."
Brass caulking ferrules shall be of brass pipe conforming to the specifications listed in § 131-13 or of heavy cast brass of the weight and dimensions given in the following table. Brass caulking ferrules for copper water tube shall conform to the specifications listed in § 131-13. Seamless copper ferrules may be used in lieu of cast brass, provided that they correspond in size and weight.
