The City of North Wildwood Dog Park, the use of which is governed
by this article, is established and shall consist of a fence-enclosed
area within the confines of Lot 1 in Block 289.03 as shown on the
North Wildwood Tax Map in effect as of March 2015.
Unless otherwise specifically defined herein, words and phrases
in this article shall be interpreted so as to give them the meaning
that they have in common usage and to give this article its most reasonable
application. The following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
DOG LICENSE
A current license issued by a governmental authority which
represents that a dog has a valid, unexpired rabies vaccination.
DOG PARK PERMIT
A current dog park permit issued by the City Clerk which
allows a keeper to admit a dog into the dog park.
KEEPER
Any person exercising control over a dog or permitting a
dog to enter the dog park or permitting a dog for which he or she
is responsible to remain in the dog park. The owner of a dog is also
its keeper.
City Council, from time to time, shall adopt by resolution such
rules and regulations as it deems necessary and proper for the control
and regulation of the dog park and property adjacent thereto. Copies
of all such rules and regulations shall be supplied to all persons
to whom the City Clerk issues a dog park permit. All current dog park
rules and regulations shall be prominently posted at the entrance
to the dog park.
Any person who violates any section of this article or any of
the rules or regulations promulgated pursuant to this article shall,
upon conviction, be subject to a fine of up to $2,000, imprisonment
up to 90 days and/or community service up to 90 days in the discretion
of the Municipal Court Judge and may be barred from further use of
the dog park for such time as the Municipal Court Judge may determine.
