[Pursuant to P.L. 2020, c. 67, effective 1-1-2021, the Code of Mercer County has been amended to delete the term “Board of Chosen Freeholders” and replace it with the term “Board of County Commissioners.” In addition, the terms “Freeholder” and “Chosen Freeholder” have been deleted and replaced by the term “County Commissioner.”]
The Administrator shall be the Director of the Department of Administration. The Administrator shall serve at the pleasure of the County Executive and shall be responsible only to the County Executive. The Administrator shall be qualified by education, experience and ability to assist the County Executive in the orderly and efficient administration of the County to perform whatever supervisory or administrative duties the County Executive may assign.
The Administrator shall serve as acting County Executive during the temporary absence or disability thereof.

There shall be three Deputy Administrators. There shall be a Deputy Administrator/Finance; a Deputy Administrator/Transportation and Infrastructure; and a Deputy Administrator/Department of Administration. The respective Deputy Administrators shall perform such functions as assigned to them from time to time by the Administrator, and shall report to the Administrator.
The following offices/positions shall report to the Administrator: Office of Emergency Management; Medical Examiner; 9-1-1/Emergency Services Communications Center; the County Fire School.
