[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Chosen Freeholders of Mercer

[Pursuant to P.L. 2020, c. 67, effective 1-1-2021, the Code
of Mercer County has been amended to delete the term “Board
of Chosen Freeholders” and replace it with the term “Board
of County Commissioners.” In addition, the terms “Freeholder”
and “Chosen Freeholder” have been deleted and replaced
by the term “County Commissioner.”]
The Improvement Authority shall consist of seven residents of
the County. In appointing the members of the Improvement Authority,
the County Executive shall give consideration to the demographic composition
of Mercer County.

Each member appointed to the Mercer County Improvement Authority
shall be appointed for a term of three years from the expiration of
his/her predecessor in office.
Any vacancy shall be filled in the manner of the original appointment
for the remainder of the unexpired term.
Within 10 days after the first appointment and thereafter during
the month of February, the Authority shall meet and elect a chairperson,
and a vice chairperson and such other officials as it deems necessary.
The County Executive shall appoint one Commissioner on an annual
basis to serve in a nonvoting capacity as a liaison between the Board
of County Commissioners and the Improvement Authority.
The powers of the Authority shall be vested in the members in
office, with four members constituting a quorum.
