[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Chosen Freeholders of Mercer

[Pursuant to P.L. 2020, c. 67, effective 1-1-2021, the Code
of Mercer County has been amended to delete the term “Board
of Chosen Freeholders” and replace it with the term “Board
of County Commissioners.” In addition, the terms “Freeholder”
and “Chosen Freeholder” have been deleted and replaced
by the term “County Commissioner.”]
In accordance with §
3.01.120 of the Code of Mercer County, the Board creates the Overall Economic Development Program Committee.
The Overall Economic Development Program Committee shall consist
of from 15 to 30 residents of the County. The membership should be
broad-based and fulfill all the requirements of the United States
Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration. Citizen
members shall serve for two years or until the appointment and qualification
of their successor.
The Overall Economic Development Program Committee shall have
the following powers and duties: to coordinate the various activities
undertaken locally to stimulate new private and public investments
and to provide permanent employment and growth opportunities in the
Mercer County area.
Any vacancy shall be filled in the manner of the original appointment
for the remainder of the unexpired term.
Within 10 days after the first appointment of members and thereafter
annually during the month of June, the Board shall elect a chairperson,
a vice chairperson and a secretary-treasurer.
