[Pursuant to P.L. 2020, c. 67, effective 1-1-2021, the Code of Mercer County has been amended to delete the term “Board of Chosen Freeholders” and replace it with the term “Board of County Commissioners.” In addition, the terms “Freeholder” and “Chosen Freeholder” have been deleted and replaced by the term “County Commissioner.”]
The Director shall have a broad education and extensive experience in administration of social services, public health and/or related programs.
The Department shall include the divisions of Mental Health, Children and Family Services, Senior and Community Services, and the Library; and such other related functions as the County Executive may assign.
The Department shall be organized and may reorganized pursuant to plan approved by the County Executive.
The following boards and commissions, continued or reconstituted as provided in Chapter 3.01, shall meet quarterly or more often as provided in their bylaws to advise the Director as to program changes, delivery of services, budget requests and other matters. They shall be agencies for accepting federal or state grants on behalf of the County when so required:

Mental Health Board;
B. 
Council on Aging;
C. 
HSAC;
D. 
Commission on Abused, Neglected and Missing Children;
E. 
Youth Services Commission.
