The City Council of the City of Avalon shall hold regular meetings in the Council Chamber of the City Hall on the first and third Tuesdays of each month, commencing at 5:00 p.m., and on such other days, at such other times, as may be held in accordance with the provisions of the Brown Act. Whenever more than 72 hours' notice is given, the meeting held shall be a regular meeting. When the date for any regular meeting falls on a legal holiday as established by any law of the State, then such meeting shall be held at the same hour on the next succeeding business day, with the same effect as if it has been held on the day herein appointed.

Pursuant to the authority set forth in § 36516 of the Government Code of the State of California, each member of the City Council shall receive a salary in the amount of $300 per month. Such salaries shall be payable at such time and in the same manner as salaries are paid to other officers and employees of the City of Avalon.[1]

The signature authority for all warrants drawn on the City Treasurer; all written contracts and conveyances made or entered by the City; and all instruments requiring the City Seal is hereby delegated to the Mayor, the City Manager or the City Manager's designee.
