The sea level is hereby declared to be the datum plane or base line of the City for the purpose of establishing and designating the official grades of streets, alleys, avenues, and sewers, and for any other public work within the City, and for measuring all elevations or surface points therein.
[§ 2, Ord. 15]
The official bench mark or datum monument within the City shall be the top of that certain pipe with the cap driven flush with the surface of the cement sidewalk at the point of intersection of the southerly line of Crescent Avenue and a line 21 feet northerly, and parallel with the center line of Metropole Avenue. The official bench mark has an elevation 11.3 feet above sea level.
