A Borough Planning Commission consisting of at least three but
not more than nine members shall be appointed by the Council of the
Borough of Cheswick. The term of each of the members of the Commission
shall be four years, or until his successor is appointed and qualified.
The terms of the members shall be fixed so that on commissions of
eight members or fewer, no more than two shall be reappointed or replaced
during any calendar year, and on commissions of nine members, no more
than three shall be reappointed or replaced during any calendar year.

The Planning Commission shall meet on a bimonthly basis, at
a specific time and place, to be designated in the bylaws of the Planning
Commission of the Borough of Cheswick.
An appointment to fill any vacancies in said Commission shall
be only for the unexpired portion of the terms where such vacancies
occurred.
The members of the Borough Planning Commission, upon their appointment
by the Borough Council, shall organize and elect from their number
a Chairman, Vice Chairman and Secretary and shall make and prepare
and alter rules and regulations for the conduct of the business of
their organization consistent with the provisions of the laws of Pennsylvania
and the ordinances of the Borough.
Subject to the approval of the Borough Council, the Planning
Commission may employ engineers and other persons whose salaries,
wages and other expenses shall be paid by the Borough, and make contract
for professional planning services, the costs and expenses of which,
upon approval by the Borough Council, shall be paid.
The members of the Planning Commission shall serve without compensation
and shall make an annual report to the Borough Council of their transactions.
