The Council of the Borough of Cheswick hereby signifies its intention and desire to organize jointly with the Borough of Springdale, the Township of Springdale and the Township of Harmar an authority under the provisions of the Municipality Authorities Act of May 2, 1945, P.L. 382, as amended.[1]

In pursuance of said desire and intention and in conformity with the terms and provisions of said Municipality Authorities Act and its amendments, the Mayor, President of Council, and the Borough Secretary are hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the Borough of Cheswick Articles of Incorporation for said authority.[1]

Hudson W. McDonough is hereby appointed by the Borough of Cheswick as a member of the Board of the Authority for the term of three years from January 1, 1960.
The proper officers of the Borough are hereby directed, as required by the Municipality Authorities Act of May 2, 1945, P.L. 382, as amended, to publish notice of the day upon which said Articles of Incorporation will be filed with the Secretary of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, to file Articles of Incorporation, together with the ordinance authorizing the incorporation of the Authority and the necessary proofs of publication with the Secretary of the Commonwealth, and to do all things necessary or appropriate to effect the incorporation of the Allegheny Valley Joint Sewage Authority.

The term of existence of the Allegheny Valley Joint Sewage Authority shall be extended to a date being 50 years from the date of approval of this chapter by the Secretary of the Commonwealth.
