Residents of the Borough of Cheswick desiring to use Borough-owned land shall submit a written application to the Borough Secretary.
Only residents of the Borough of Cheswick shall be permitted to make application for use of Borough-owned land.

Applications will be considered in the order in which they are received, and upon approval by the Borough Council of said application, a permit will be issued by the Borough Secretary for the use of said lot or lots for a period of one year (January 1 to December 31); provided, however, that the holder of said permit shall have the option to renew said permit for another year and from year to year thereafter upon the same terms and upon 30 days' notice, in writing, prior to the expiration date of said permit. Said permits shall be subject to cancellation by the Borough Council at any time, and no damages will be paid for any loss suffered as a result of said cancellation.

Permits provided for herein shall be issued without the payment of a fee.
No application will be considered for a period of less than one year or less than one lot.
No permanent structure shall be constructed on said lot by the permittee, and no topsoil or earth shall be removed from said lot; the permit will authorize the use of said lot only for a lawn or garden.

Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be punishable, upon conviction thereof, by a fine of not less than $50 nor more than $600, and costs of prosecution, for each offense or, upon default in payment of the fine and costs, by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than 30 days.
