As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the following
meanings indicated:
BODY PIERCING
Piercing of the skin for the express intention of insertion of any
object, including but not limited to jewelry; provided, however, that the
piercing of the lobes of the ears shall be specifically excluded from the
purview of this chapter.
Licenses issued pursuant to the provisions of this chapter shall be
good only from the day of issuance through the 30th day of June thereafter.
No subsequent license shall be issued without filing an application for renewal
similar to the original application for the license.
In addition to being subject to the penalties provided in §
158-7 of this chapter, any license issued under this chapter may be revoked or suspended by the members of Council of the City of North Wildwood for any misstatement in any application or for any violation of this chapter. No license shall be revoked or suspended until the licensee has been afforded a hearing before the members of Council of the City of North Wildwood. Notice of the filing of a complaint which seeks to suspend or revoke any license issued under this chapter shall be served on the defendant personally or on the person designated to receive service in §
158-2A(5) of this chapter, either personally or by certified mail, return-receipt requested, which notice will establish a date for a hearing to be held not sooner than five days not more than 14 days from the date of such notice, at which time, the defendant shall have the right to be represented by counsel, call witnesses, cross-examine witnesses produced in support of the complaint, as well as such other rights necessary in order to ensure due process. Should any license be revoked or suspended, no part of the license fee shall be returned.
Nothing in the foregoing shall be construed so as to affect the practice
of medicine or any other recognized profession or occupation by a person duly
licensed by the State of New Jersey to engage in such practice, profession
or occupation and whose license would lawfully authorize the piercing of the
body.

Any person, partnership, firm or corporation who violates any section
of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to imprisonment
not exceeding 90 days and/or a fine of not less than $100 nor more than $1,250.
