Defense and indemnification — See Ch. 25.
Legal actions are usually started by sending a copy of the complaint to the person sued and a request that the person sign the acknowledgment of receipt of summons and complaint. By signing the receipt, a time limit starts that requires an answer to be filed.
All county employees, when they receive any legal documents, shall not sign the papers accepting service.
The entire document, including the notice of acknowledgment of receipt of summons and complaint and the return envelope, shall be forwarded to the County Solicitor.
