[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Commissioners of York County 12-29-1999 by Ord. No. 1999-04. Amendments noted where applicable.]
The Board of Commissioners of York County in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, by virtue of the authority vested in us, do hereby officially establish the process by resolution to develop the York County Y2K Action Plan, (hereinafter referred to as the "Y2K Plan") as hereinafter set forth.
A. 
Purpose. The Y2K Action Plan will detail the scope of the Year 2000 assessment, planning process and completed actions. The plan will require the assessment of office equipment and other areas that may be susceptible to the Year 2000 bug. The plan will also identify all third party service providers with whom the County of York conducts business to determine their efforts to become Y2K compliant. During the assessment, a priority listing of systems that provide for the public safety and to ensure continuous and uninterrupted service where needed will be established.
B. 
The plan, when completed, will be kept on file in the York County Commissioners Office and be available for review upon request.
The following actions will be taken as part of the Y2K Action Plan:
A. 
Appoint Mr. Al Raniero and Mr. Robert Straw as co-chairs of the Y2K Action Plan. They will report on the progress of the Plan monthly.
B. 
Conduct an inventory of all computer hardware, software and office equipment that use dates including building services equipment, telephone systems, payroll systems, accounting and receivable systems, postal scales and meters, sprinklers and smoke detectors and flow meters
C. 
Prioritize the equipment that is most critical and work to fix or replace any problems by August 1999.
D. 
Formally identify key suppliers and service providers, including commodity vendors, financial institutions, utilities and telecommunications firms.
E. 
Request all key suppliers to verify their Y2K compliance efforts in writing.
F. 
Test the county's compliance by August 1999 and work with the community businesses and organizations to have contingency plans in place by October 1999.
