It shall be unlawful for any person or persons, partnership, firm or corporation, engaged in the business of butchering or exposing meat or poultry for sale, to willfully kill or slaughter, within the limits of Borough of Kittanning, in the County of Armstrong, and State of Pennsylvania, any hog, sheep, calf, steer, cow, chicken, turkey, duck, or other animal, or to bring within the limits of said Borough the dead carcass of any such animal, as aforesaid, and therein remove the intestines, hide, feathers, of any such animal; and it shall further be unlawful for such person or persons, firm, partnership, or corporation, to use any house, shed, or other building or structure, or lot, within the limits of said Borough, as a slaughterhouse or slaughter place.

Any person or persons, partnership firm or corporation, violating any provisions of this chapter shall, for every such violation, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $600 and costs of prosecution, and, in default of payment of fine and costs, to undergo imprisonment for not more than 30 days. Provided: Each day's violation of any provision of this chapter shall constitute a separate violation.

It shall not be the intent of the Borough Council, in enacting this chapter, to supersede any provision of Chapter 550, Zoning, of the Code of the Borough of Kittanning, but the intent of this chapter is to be supplementary and in addition to the provisions of Chapter 550, Zoning.
Any violation of any section or part of this chapter shall be deemed, and is hereby declared, to be a public nuisance, and the Borough of Kittanning, by its proper officers and agents, is hereby authorized and empowered to proceed for the suppression or abatement of said public nuisance, either in equity, or by criminal proceedings, or in any other legal manner according to law.
