No person shall set off or discharge within the city limits of Gloucester City any revolver, pistol, shotgun, rifle, cannon or firearms of any description using cartridges or gunpowder for ammunition, or any firearms that are gas-, spring- or air-operated, provided, always, that nothing contained herein shall be construed to extend to any military maneuvers, to the explosion of dynamite or similar blasting material used in construction, demolition or excavation, or to fireworks display, under proper supervision and state or municipal license or to any police officer in the line of duty.
Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine not to exceed $500 or by imprisonment not to exceed 90 days, or by both fine and imprisonment.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
This ordinance shall take effect after final passage and publication as provided by law.
