Any person or persons who shall deface, pull or tear down, or shall cause to be defaced, pulled or torn down or destroyed, any ordinance, proclamation or copy of the same, or any handbill or advertisement, put up under or by authority of the Mayor, Judge of the Municipal Court or Common Council of this city, shall, upon conviction, be punishable by a fine of not more than $500 or by imprisonment for a term not exceeding 90 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment at the discretion of the Judge before whom such conviction shall be had.

It shall be unlawful to distribute, cast or place, or cause to be distributed, cast or placed, on or along any of the streets or public places of Gloucester City, or on any of the sidewalks or footways thereof, or into any vestibule or yard, or upon any porch of any store, dwelling house or other building within the limits of said city, any paper, circular, advertisement, handbill or wastepaper; provided that nothing herein contained shall be held to prohibit the regular distribution of newspapers, addressed envelopes or postal cards.
Any person or persons violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction, be punishable by a fine of not more than $500 or by imprisonment for not more than 90 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the Judge before whom such conviction shall be had.
