[Adopted 1-9-2002 by Ord. No. 2002-01[1]]
[1]
Editor's Note: This ordinance also superseded former Art. VI, Rear Entrance to Courthouse, adopted 10-14-1993, as amended 12-20-1995 by Res. No. 95-20, and Art. VII, Use of Rear Entrance to Courthouse by Attorneys, adopted 10-15-1993.
For the safety of employees and all who enter the York County Courthouse, we will be implementing new procedures which will require everyone who enters the building to pass through security. This policy was originally slated to begin with the new Judicial Center but, as a result of recent events, the timetable has changed.
All briefcases, packages, handbags, etc. will be scanned through the x-ray machine. Those who enter through the rear door with briefcases, packages, handbags, etc., will be required to go to the front entrance to have them scanned. All items should be tagged with identification. Furthermore, we ask that no one leave any such item unattended in the Courthouse. Employees who report to work before 8:00 a.m. must go through the front door and pass through security. Entrance through the Recorder of Deeds Office will be discontinued. Those who now swipe in through this door will be removed from the system and required to enter through the main front door.
While this building does not lend itself to perfect security conditions, it is our intent to do all we can to make it as safe as possible for employees and others who use the Courthouse. Please work with us to achieve that goal. Your cooperation will be appreciated.
