It shall be unlawful to park any vehicle in any area marked "No Parking Fire Lane" in the Town of Raymond.
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
VEHICLE
Every mechanical device in, upon or by which any person or property is or may be transported or drawn upon a way, excepting devices used exclusively upon stationary rails or tracks.
Fire lanes shall be provided for all buildings that are set back more than 150 feet from a public road or exceed 30 feet in height and are set back over 50 feet from a public road. This shall include municipally owned land and buildings as well as any other land and buildings opened to or operated for use by the general public or any part thereof and/or at the approval of the Fire Chief.
Fire lanes shall be not less than 20 feet of unobstructed width, able to withstand live loads of fire apparatus and have a minimum of 14 feet of vertical clearance. An approved turnaround for fire apparatus shall be provided where an access road is a dead end and is in excess of 150 feet in length. The turnaround shall have a minimum center line radius of 50 feet. The grade of fire lane shall be within the limits established by the authority having jurisdiction.
A. 
Fire lanes shall be marked with freestanding signs and marked curbs, sidewalks or other traffic surfaces that have the words "Fire Lane-No Parking" painted in contrasting colors at a size and spacing approved by the authority having jurisdiction. A listing of fire lanes shall be on file at the Police and Fire Departments.
B. 
Upon establishment of a fire lane, the owner of the property, if other than the Town, shall be responsible for the maintenance and installation as prescribed in this chapter, § 236-4. An offense under this chapter shall be construed as a violation.
Fire lanes shall be maintained free of all obstructions at all times. An offense under this chapter shall constitute a violation. A minimum fine of $15 per offense may be payable at the Raymond Town Clerk's office in person or by mail within 10 days of the violation. Nothing in this chapter shall preclude the issuance of a summons under RSA 265:69-IIIb, Stopping, standing and parking prohibited.
This chapter becomes effective upon publication.
