The salary for the Mayor of the City of Hayward is hereby established in the amount of $600 per month.
The salary for each Alderperson in the City of Hayward is hereby established in the amount of $300 per month.
For any partial month where payment is required under the provisions of this article, said monthly payment shall be prorated for the number of days served in the elective position during said month, based upon the aforesaid monthly salary. Payments due pursuant to this article shall be made at least monthly.
Said salaries shall become effective for the Mayor and each respective Alderperson after passage of this article and publication hereof and upon subsequently becoming newly elected and upon qualifying for the respective position.
A. 
Deductions from salaries for unexcused missed meetings will be $50 per meeting for any regular meetings and $25 per meeting for any special or committee meetings a Council member or the Mayor is on. The Mayor or Council President may excuse a Council member or Mayor from any regular, special or committee meeting so as not to be deducted for paid purposes.

Effective date. Said deductions shall become effective April 1, 1995.
