When properly authorized the Town may consist of the following
departments, and the department heads shall be known by the titles
shown:

Each department head shall be responsible for maintaining the
operation of his/her department on a close and amiable basis of cooperation
with all other departments.
Each department head shall be responsible for satisfactory maintenance
and care of all Town property that is assigned to his/her department.
Each department head shall also maintain a current equipment inventory.
All department heads reporting to the Town Manager shall be appointed as provided by §§
200-6 and
200-7 of the Administrative Code, for indefinite terms on the basis of merit and fitness to perform their duties and may be removed by the Town Manager for cause.
Department heads reporting to the Town Manager may establish
subordinate positions and make appointments and removals as necessary,
within the limitation of the budget appropriations (or granted transfers)
provided and subject to the provisions of the Administrative Code
and approval of the Town Manager.
All employees shall be under the immediate supervision of their
respective department heads.
