The employment policies and practices of the York County government shall in no way discriminate against employees or applicants for employment on account of race, color, religious creed, ancestry, age, sex, national origin, non-job-related disability and/or any political affiliations. It is also the County Commissioners' practice to treat all employees equally with respect to pay and opportunities for advancement, demotions, leaves of absence, discipline, suspensions, terminations and participation in County-sponsored programs.
A copy of the York County Equal Employment Opportunity Affirmative Action Program Manual may be obtained by any employee of the County of York from the County Human Resources Department.

Employees have been carefully selected through written application, personal interviewing and reference checking. The York County government is extremely interested in employees who take pride in themselves by working up to their abilities.

York County Government expects each employee to work up to his/her own productivity potential.
The contents of the handbook are presented as a matter of information only. Copies of this manual are provided to each new employee at the time of employment and are available upon request. The plans, policies and procedures described are not conditions of employment. York County government reserves the right to modify, revoke, suspend, terminate or change any or all such plans, policies and procedures, in whole or in part, at any time with or without notice. The language which appears in the booklet is not intended to create nor is it to be construed to constitute a contract between the York County government and any one or all of its employees. Any collective bargaining agreement between the County and its recognized bargaining units shall supersede the handbook for the employees covered by the agreement.
