The Town establishes a Planning Board of seven members with duties as set forth in RSA 36:1-15 (1955)[1] to make a study of the Town's development and report to the Town appropriate recommendations for the promotion and maintenance of the Town's best development.

The Town increased the number of Planning Board members elected from five as approved by the 2004 Article 38, to seven members, including one Selectmen as an ex officio member. The two additional positions are to be filled at the next regular Town election with one member for a one-year term and one member for a two-year term. Thereafter each of these positions will be filled for a three-year term.
