The purpose of this Zoning Chapter is to promote the health, safety, economic and social well-being of the community, to protect the natural resources, including the lakes, rivers, streams, drinking water and aquifer, to lessen congestion in the streets, to secure safety from fires, panic, and other dangers, to promote adequate light and air, to prevent overcrowding of land, to avoid undue concentration of population, and to facilitate the adequate provision of transportation, water, sewerage and schools. The Town of Raymond, New Hampshire, adopted this chapter in conformance with New Hampshire RSA 674:16.
Any and all terms and provisions of the Zoning Ordinance, including but not limited to tables and dimensional charts, shall be construed pursuant to the following rules:
A. 
In case of any conflict between provisions, the language of the most recent amendment to any provision shall control over the language of any prior version of such provision and over the language of any related provision;
B. 
The language of the most specific provision on the subject controls over the more general provision.
This chapter and any amendments shall become effective on the date of adoption.
