The City Council of the City of Perth Amboy (the "City") has,
by Resolution R44-2/97, finally adopted on February 10, 1997, determined
that certain properties identified in the resolution (the "Properties")
are areas in need of redevelopment pursuant to the Redevelopment and
Housing Law, N.J.S.A. 40A:12A-1 et seq. (the "Redevelopment Law").
The City has caused to be prepared a redevelopment plan (the
"Plan") for the Properties, which Plan is attached hereto as Exhibit
"A".
In accordance with the law, the Planning Board of the City has
reviewed and studied the Plan, has found that such Plan conforms to
the approved Master Plan of the City, and has recommended that the
Plan be approved by the City Council.
The City Council has reviewed the recommendation of the Planning
Board to adopt the Plan.
The City desires to create a body corporate and politic to be
known as the "Perth Amboy Redevelopment Agency" (hereinafter, the
"Agency") to serve as the redevelopment entity for the clearance,
replanning, development and redevelopment of the Properties in accordance
with the Plan.
The Agency shall have all the powers vested in redevelopment
agencies under the Redevelopment Law.
The Local Finance Board in the Division of Local Government
Services in the Department of Community Affairs, State of New Jersey,
has approved the creation of the Agency pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:5A-4;
and the City Council desires to delineate certain matters with respect
to the Agency.
That copies of this chapter, certified by the City Clerk, shall
be filed in the office of the Division of Local Government Services
in the Department of Community Affairs of the State of New Jersey
