[HISTORY: Adopted by the Common Council (now the Council of the City of Perth Amboy 9-10-1859 as Ch. 56. Section 108-2 amended at time of adoption of Code; see Ch. 1, General Provisions. Other amendments noted where applicable.]
The seal heretofore used by the City of Perth Amboy and which is described as follows: on the right is the figure of a ship, on the left a cornucopia or horn of plenty; over and beneath these figures and within the outer circle are the words in Latin, "Arte Non Impetu Portus Optimus," around the whole is the following inscription. "Sigillum Civitatis Perth Amboyensis," on the reverse side are the words which appear to have been inscribed after the seal had been engraved, viz: William Eier; Mayor. James Alexander; Recorder, 1718; which seal as above represented is annexed hereunto, is declared to have been and to be now the Common Seal of the City of Perth Amboy.

The City Clerk shall be the keeper of the city seal and is to have the custody thereof, and it shall be kept at all times in the office of the Clerk.
