No stoops or steps shall, without permission of the Mayor and
City Council, project or encroach on the sidewalks of any street of
this city more than one-third (1/3) the width of said sidewalk, measuring
from the line of any street. The person maintaining an encroachment
shall be given twenty-four (24) hours' notice to remove the same before
liability shall attach. The notice is to be given by the Department
of Public Works.

The Department of Code Enforcement, the Department of Public
Works, and all City of Perth Amboy police officers are authorized
to issue summons for violation of any and all provisions of this chapter.
