[HISTORY: Adopted by the Township Committee (now Council) of the Township of Monroe 7-7-71 by Ord. No. 197. Amendments noted where applicable.]
In accordance with the authority granted by N.J.S.A. 40:49-5.1 to 49-5.3, inclusive, a code is hereby adopted establishing regulations governing the installation, renewal, extension, alteration, repair and maintenance of electrical work, including but not limited to all electrical wiring, fixtures, motors, appliances and equipment. A copy of this code is annexed to and made a part of this chapter without including the text of the code herein.
[Amended 10-6-1975 by Ord. No. 276]
The code adopted by this chapter is commonly known as the "National Electrical Code" issued by the National Fire Protection Association, being more particularly the most recent edition or revision thereof, with amendments and supplements, as the same is or may hereafter be published.
[Amended 10-6-1975 by Ord. No. 276]
Three copies of the National Electrical Code have been placed on file in the office of the Township Clerk and will remain on file there for use and examination by the public.[1]

Editor's Note: Original Sections IV through XVI of this ordinance were deleted during codification and repealed at time of adoption of Code (see Ch. 1, General Provisions, Article I). Those sections pertained to the issuance of permits and the administration and enforcement of the Electrical Code by a Township Electrical Inspector and were not being enforced.
