Pursuant to the authority vested in each municipality of the State of New Jersey by virtue of the "Electric Discount and Energy Competition Act," particularly Section 45 thereof, the Township of Monroe does hereby indicate this municipality's intent to solicit bids for the provision of electric generation service and gas supply service, either separately or bundled, without written consent of the residential customers of this municipality. The Township of Monroe shall fully comply with all of the other terms and conditions of Section 45 thereof, which requires that within 15 days of the final adoption of this chapter, that this municipality provide notice on a form as determined by the Board of Public Utilities, to all of the residential customers of the municipality, advising them of their right to affirmatively decline participation in the municipal energy aggregation program and which shall provide 30 days for residential customers to respond, in writing, to the municipality of the residential customer's decision to affirmatively decline participation in the energy aggregation program.
The energy aggregation program herein referred to will provide for electric generation service and gas supply service and shall be named "Monroe Township Energy Aggregation Program" formed pursuant to an ordinance duly adopted by this municipality as authorized by the Electric Discount and Energy Competition Act.
