There is hereby established and created in the
Department of Public Safety of the Township of Nutley a First Aid
Squad, which shall consist of a committee of not more than 75 persons,
residents of the Township of Nutley, the members of which said Squad
shall be appointed by the Director of Public Safety.
Eleven members of said Squad who are first appointed
shall be designated to serve for one year, 12 members for two years
and 12 members for three years. Thereafter, each member shall be appointed
as aforesaid for the term of three years and until his successor is
appointed and qualified.
It shall be the duty of said Squad to render
ambulance service to the residents of the Township of Nutley, within
territorial limits to be designated by the Director of Public Safety,
and to perform such other duties as shall be determined by the Director
of Public Safety for the accomplishment of the principal purpose of
said Squad.

The said Squad shall elect a President, Vice
President, Captain, Treasurer and Secretary and determine their duties
by rules and regulations to be adopted by said Squad.
The said Squad shall adopt rules and regulations
for the efficient operation and functioning of said Squad, but no
rule or regulation shall become effective until the same is first
approved in writing by the Director of Public Safety.
The Director of Public Safety shall permit said
Squad to use and operate one of the Township ambulances, which shall
be assigned to said Squad by the Director of Public Safety, so that
said Squad shall render said ambulance service to the residents of
the Township of Nutley.

The members and officers of said First Aid Squad
shall serve without compensation except for a maximum of two duly
certified emergency medical technicians may be employed under terms,
conditions of employment and qualifications to be approved by the
Director of Public Safety.

The said First Aid Squad may be dissolved at
any time by the Board of Commissioners by adopting an ordinance to
that effect.
