There is hereby created in the Township of Nutley a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of persons who shall do damage to or steal from municipal parking meters of the Township of Nutley.
The Chief of Police[1] of the Township of Nutley or his designee shall certify to the Board of Commissioners that information has been received from a person which was the proximate cause of the arrest and conviction of a person or persons for doing damage to or stealing from municipal parking meters.

Any person who shall provide information leading to the arrest and conviction of persons who have done damage to or who have stolen from municipal parking meters, upon written claim to the Board of Commissioners by service upon the Township Clerk, shall be entitled to a reward of $100, provided the Chief of Police has made certification as provided in § 488-2 herein.
Anything herein to the contrary notwithstanding, no employee of the Township of Nutley, police officer of the Township of Nutley or any other person associated with or employed by a law enforcement agency shall be entitled to a reward pursuant to the provisions herein.
The Board of Commissioners shall authorize payment of rewards herein by resolution in compliance with the provisions herein.
The Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to erect and maintain signs throughout the Township of Nutley for the purpose of advertising the reward established herein.
