SKATEBOARD
A narrow board approximately two feet long mounted on rollerskate-type
wheels.

(a) No person shall operate or use a skateboard in the City's Central
Business District, as shown on Exhibit A attached to original Ordinance
24-1990, 91.
(b) In areas other than the Central Business District and at the sole
discretion and responsibility of a parent or guardian, skateboards
may be operated on sidewalks and streets.

Neither the parent of any minor (person under the age of 18)
nor the legal guardian of any minor shall authorize or knowingly permit
any such minor to violate any of the provisions of this article.

Whoever violates any of the provisions of this article shall,
upon conviction thereof:
(a) First offense. The skateboard used in violation of this article shall
be impounded by the Police Department for a period not exceeding 15
days; if the person violating the article is a minor, in addition
to the confiscation of the skateboard as aforesaid, the Police Department
shall notify the parents, guardian or other person having legal custody
of such minor of the violation of this article, the impounding of
the skateboard and a copy of this article.
(b) Second or subsequent offense. The skateboard of any person violating
the provisions of this article for the second or subsequent time shall
be impounded by the Police Department for a period not exceeding 30
days and such person shall, upon conviction be sentenced to pay a
fine of $15 and costs; in the event such person is a minor, the skateboard
of such minor shall be impounded by the Police Department for a period
not exceeding 30 days and the parent, guardian or other person having
legal custody of such minor shall be, upon conviction, sentenced to
pay a fine of $15 plus costs.
