Each Trustee hereafter elected shall receive as compensation
the sum of $300 per month to be paid on the first pay period of the
month.

A. The members of the Board of Trustees are entitled to a monthly expense
allowance in the sum of $100.
B. Nothing in this section shall prevent reimbursement for expenses
over and above the allowance amount with proof and proper Board approval.

No bond shall be required of any Trustee before entering upon
his duties.

The members of the Board of Trustees shall take the customary
oath of office prescribed by Statute, before entering upon the duties
of office.

A. Functions. The Board of Trustees shall be the legislative department
of the Village government, and shall perform such duties and have
such powers as may be delegated by statute to it. It shall pass ordinances,
resolutions and motions.
B. Conserve Peace. Each Trustee shall be a conservator of the peace
and shall have power to arrest or cause to be arrested, with or without
process, all persons who break the peace or are found violating any
municipal ordinance or any criminal law of the state. He shall have
power to commit arrested persons for examination and, if necessary,
to detain arrested persons in custody overnight in any safe place,
or until they can be brought before the proper judicial officer.
C. Powers to Prescribe Duties and Fees. The Board of Trustees and the
President may prescribe the duties and fees of appointed officers
and may require them to execute whatever bonds are prescribed by ordinance.
