There is hereby created the office of Animal Control Officer.
The Animal Control Officer shall be appointed by the President with
the advice of the Board of Trustees for a period of time not exceeding
the term of the President and shall service until his successor is
appointed and duly qualified.

The Animal Control Officer shall receive such compensation as
shall be set by the President and Board of Trustees.

The Animal Control Officer shall be responsible for enforcing
the animal regulations of the Village of Thornton, and shall report
to the Chief of Police. The Animal Control Officer shall not have
the power to issue tickets and make arrests.
