There shall be a local Board of Health in and for the Borough
of Pine Beach, in the County of Ocean, in accordance with the provisions
of the statute in such case made and provided.
Said local Board of Health shall consist of five members who
shall be appointed by the Mayor, with the advice and consent of the
Borough Council. Of the first members of the Board appointed as herein
provided, one member so appointed shall be appointed for the term
of one year, two for the terms of two years and two for the terms
of three years, and thereafter members of said Board of Health shall
hold office for terms of three years. If any vacancy occurs in said
Board of Health by resignation or inability of any member to serve
or from any other cause, the appointment to fill such vacancy shall
be made in the same manner in which the original appointments are
to be made but for the unexpired term only.
Said local Board of Health shall elect a President from among
its members and shall adopt rules and regulations for its government.
Said local Board of Health shall appoint a Local Registrar of
Vital Statistics, Clerk and Sanitary Inspector, and may appoint such
other officers or assistants as it may deem necessary. The term of
office of such Local Registrar shall be three years and until his
successor has been appointed and qualified, and any vacancy occurring
in such office shall be filled for the unexpired term only. All appointees
of said Board shall be governed by the rules of said Board and be
subject to all laws, rules and regulations governing such officers,
and they may be removed for cause by said Board. The Sanitary Inspector
shall promptly report to the local Board of Health every violation
of the health ordinances of the borough coming to view or knowledge,
and the marshals of the borough, when on police duty, shall serve
as Special Sanitary Inspectors.
