Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-135, there is hereby created within the Borough of Pine Beach the office of Deputy Municipal Clerk.
The Deputy Municipal Clerk shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the governing body.

The Deputy Municipal Clerk shall serve during the absence, disability or disqualification of the Municipal Clerk and shall have all the powers of the Municipal Clerk and shall perform the functions and duties of such office when so required and shall have such other powers, duties and functions as may be delegated by the Mayor and Council or by the Municipal Clerk. The Deputy Municipal Clerk shall serve as the Deputy Registrar of Vital Statistics.

The Governing Body may in its discretion require an appointee to the office and position of Deputy Municipal Clerk to engage in such training and education and obtain such certifications and the like as the municipal Governing Body may from time to time deem fit. The Governing body, may, in its discretion, require such activity as a condition of appointment.
