The purpose of this article is to establish
in ordinance form tuition and fees to be charged by the Public Affairs
Department for the kindergarten and extended day child-care program.
The kindergarten programs shall begin at 11:20
a.m. or such other time as may be hereafter set by the Public Affairs
Director and shall end at either 3:20 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. or such other
time as may be hereafter set by the Director. The extended day-care
program shall be divided into morning and afternoon sessions. The
morning session shall begin at 7:30 a.m. or such other time as may
be hereafter set by the Public Affairs Director and shall end at 8:30
a.m. or such other time as may be hereafter set by the Director. The
afternoon session shall begin at 3:20 p.m. or such other time as may
be hereafter set by the Director and shall end at 6:00 p.m. or such
other time as may be hereafter set by the Director.
The amount of all tuitions and fees will be
set by the Public Affairs Director on a yearly basis and placed into
the minutes at an open meeting of the Board of Commissioners. The
Public Affairs Director will establish the amount of tuition to be
charged for the first child of a family enrolled in the program and
the reduced tuition for the second and third child enrolled at the
same time and from the same family.
Tuition must be received by the 10th of each
month. If the tuition is not received in full by the 10th day, a late-payment
fee will be charged. If a child in the kindergarten program is not
picked up by 3:20 p.m. or if a child in the extended day program is
not picked up by 6:00 p.m., a late pickup fee will be charged. If
any check for payment does not clear the bank, a returned check fee
will be charged.
Christmas week, winter break and summer programs
are separate programs from the yearly program and a separate tuition
will be charged.
