The City of Shamokin currently sponsors events involving the
use of City streets by off-road vehicles and snowmobiles, as well
as off-road-type vehicles.
It is in the best interest and safety of the citizens of Shamokin
and the riders that such roadways be designated "dual use" for the
orderly and safe flow of traffic.
The roads may be expanded, added to or deleted from the list
of approved dual use roadways as necessary.
Such designations will permit the state to erect dual use signage
for the benefit of the citizens and riders, as well as their safety.
The following roads, as specified herein, shall be designated
as dual use:
A.
Green Route is Terrace Avenue.
B.
Red Route is East Mulberry to South Shamokin Street to East Pine;
the common dominator in that area shall be James Pizza.
C.
Blue Route is Terrace Avenue to Lincoln Street; the common dominator
being Turkey Hill.
D.
Lime Green Route will be the downtown district using North Liberty
to independence street, North Washington, East Commerce, North Anthracite,
West Water and North Diamond.
