A. For the purpose of this section, "food handler" means any person
involved in the preparation of food to be sold to the public.
B. It is unlawful for any person to work as a food handler or for a
food handling establishment to employ persons to work who have not
obtained a food handler's permit.
C. Application for a food handler's permit shall be made to the
health officer. The health officer shall establish the requirements
to be met to obtain a food handler's permit and issue permits
when a person has met the requirements. Such permit shall be valid
for two years from date of issue.
D. Before issuing a permit the health officer may require such medical
and laboratory examinations which he deems necessary to minimize the
possibility of transmission of communicable disease.
E. The health officer may revoke a food handler's permit for flagrant
violations of proper food handling practices if the health of the
person should become questionable.
