To regulate the outdoor display of merchandise for retail, business
and industrial establishments; and to protect to the maximum extent
practicable, the rural character and aesthetic qualities of the Town
of Northborough, the property values of the community and the safety
of the citizens.
This section shall be enforced by the Inspector of Buildings.
Any person, firm, association or corporation found in violation
of this Chapter shall be punished by a fine not to exceed $300 for
each offense. Each day of violation shall constitute a separate offense.
This section shall not apply to or prohibit the outdoor display,
for sale or storage of the following:
A. Agricultural
products, whether growing or severed, including but not limited to
vegetables, fruits, flowers, shrubbery, mulch, compost or soil treatment
products.
B. Masonry
products or supplies, lumber products or supplies, or construction
materials and products including but not limited to fencings supplies,
sheds, pottery or planters.
C. Automotive
supplies or vehicles under repair or for sale.
D. Any
items or products within a residential district, to the extent that
such display and sale is consistent with ordinary accessory purposes
and subject to the restrictions set forth in Section 7-12-030 of the
Zoning Bylaws.
E. Uses
otherwise exempted by virtue of General Laws, Chapter 40A Section
3 or allowed by the Northborough Zoning Bylaw.
