There shall be within the Department of Health and Community
Wellness a Division of Welfare, the head of which shall be the Manager,
Division of Welfare.

The Division of Welfare, under the supervision of the Director
of Health and Community Wellness, shall be responsible for the following
duties:
a.
Administer laws and local ordinances relating to relief of the needy,
as provided by law;
b.
Provide related social services, such as domestic relations counseling,
indigent burials and other public welfare activities;
c.
Cooperate with public institutions in the certification of indigent
patients for medical care and treatment.
